The All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) has launched a new initiative, dubbed AICRA Tech Startup Programme, with an aim to give startups a platform to connect with the industry’s business leaders.

The program intends to act as an incubation environment for startups and other early-stage adopters working on robotics and robotic process automation (RPA) in India. It plans to cater to the essential needs of a startup such as technology, funding, market placement support, and promotion.

“Startups could use the platform to network with high net worth individuals, VCs, angel investors, Govt. stakeholders and generate business and funding opportunities,” AICRA writes on its website.

Be job creators instead of job seekers

Launched on September 23, 2019, the AICRA Tech Startup initiative has rolled out several programs with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs, building a robust startup ecosystem, and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers.

These programs are managed by a dedicated startup India team, which reports to the Council for Robotics & Automation’s Entrepreneurship Unit.

There will be a host of benefits for the registered startup throughout the entire year, which includes mentorship, networks, information on all activities, etc.

Raj Kumar Sharma, president of AICRA, told News18 that they are also tying up with venture capitalists and sourcing funds from CSR activities as per the Indian finance minister’s announcement of using CSR funds to set up incubation centers.

“AICRA will also be tapping into its list of members, which include those from industries as well as the education sector, in order to help these startups find clients to sell their products to. We will further host events to facilitate B2B and B2C contacts, such as the AICRA STEM Summit & Awards,” Sharma was quoted as saying.
