Robots have always been a fascinating chunk of technology. No invention has ever been as quite as fun and educational as robots. The drastic development of technologies like artificial intelligence will significantly alter the future lifestyle and the job market. In the future, robotics will be the riding technology underpinning a broad period of autonomous tools and cognitive artifacts that, through their learning abilities, interact seamlessly with the world around them and hence empower the missing link between the digital and physical world.

How to begin with robotics in India

Robotics is a vast subject. Deliberate attempts should be made to understand the core basics of robotics. There are many undergraduate and diploma programs offering robotics learning. The Indian government and other organizations have initiated several beneficial programs to create a potential next-generation with robotic skills.

How to make people aware of the importance of robotics?

As said previously, various programs have been initiated by the government and several other organizations to integrate robotics more into our society. We, as responsible citizens should ensure the one-on-one accessibility to such programs. Robot skill centers should be built in every hook and corner of the country. In 2020 the Indian government increased the expenditure for digital India to boost AI, IoT, Big data, Cyber Security, Machine learning, and robotics. Policy level initiatives by the Ministry of electronics and information technology, programs around AI by NASSCOM, Efforts by DRDO, Initiatives by NPC are some of the examples.

One such notable initiative was establishing Robotic skill centers all across India organized by the All India Council for robotics and automation(AICRA). The program was launched by honorable union minister Sri.Nitin Gadkari during India STEM Summit.

The fundamental goal of the RSC program is to train and certify 1.5 million learners on robotics by 2021. RSC program upgrades computer centers to Robotic skill centers to ensure the accessibility of robotics technology to everyone.

How to take part in the RSC program by AICRA and Upgrade your computer institute?
Computer centers with good infrastructure can be upgraded into robotic skill centers authorized to run certified programs by AICRA and the national productivity council. AICRA welcomes the holders of computer institutes to join the journey towards providing world-class robotics education.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Computer institutes must have 1000 sqft space and 25 high configuration computers with 20 Mbps internet.
  • Institute should be having 3 faculties
  • 3 years of experience in the educational field with a minimum of 500 students.

AICRA extends all the support to robotic skill centers including free training, material supply, promotion activities along international exposure and recognition.

Robotics technology is exposed to advance developments day by day. It requires continuous up-gradation. Mutual efforts from the government along with individuals matter in creating an environment for world-class robotics education.
